Error in the name of Claude 4 sonnet while using in cursor as custom model

Question

We encountered an issue when using your API key:

Provider was unable to process your request
API error: Request failed with status code 400:
{ "error": { "message": "claude-sonnet-4-20250514 is not a valid model ID", "code": 400 }," }

I have used the names as "anthropic/claude-sonnet-4", "claude-sonnet-4", and also "anthropic/claude-4-sonnet-20250522" but I'm getting this error every time I try. Can someone help?

What is the provider/base URL you are using in Cursor?

Since you are getting 400, it means the provider your Cursor is pointing at is not recognising the model string which is claude-4-sonnet-20250522 in your case. Figure out the correct model string based on your provider and try again. Here are few popular provider model names.
