I see vertical bars, but I also see spaces.

Counting up the number of spaces before each bar yields:
2, 1, 18, 3, 8, 1, 18, 20

Mapping these numbers to letters in the alphabet (1=A, 2=B, etc.) reveals:
B A R C H A R T
It’s a bar chart.

How?

Count the number of spaces before every 'bar'. Using A1Z26 we get 'BARCHART'!
