After installed the lastest version of Android Studio on my new laptop, it seems that I can't move the XML preview window to the right side as before. I've tried dragging the window but no help. See screenshot below:

Expect: Move the preview window to the right side vertically.

Any help will be appreciated.

  • Can you click the relevant icon again, while it's selected? That's usually what switches those panels' position from the side to the bottom and back. Commented May 22 at 16:06
  • To clarify, I mean the center one of the three icon buttons in the upper-right of the XML editor. I'd circle it, but I'm on a a phone atm. Commented May 22 at 16:15
  • Solved by running the app..that's weird. Commented May 22 at 16:17
