I'm trying to get started with the Google Antigravity platform (the new Gemini 3 agentic IDE), and I'm hitting a wall right at the very beginning—the account setup phase.

The Issue I'm Seeing:

screenshot

I successfully log in with my Google account (which definitely has access to the public preview), but the app just takes me to a screen that says something like "Setting up your account" or "Finalizing setup..." and then... nothing. It's an infinite loading spinner. It never moves past this step, even if I leave it running for 15+ minutes. It seems totally stuck in a loop.

What I've Already Tried (Troubleshooting Steps):

  1. Browser Cleanup: I cleared out my browser's cache and cookies completely, especially for the Google and Antigravity domains.

  2. Different Browsers: I've tested on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, and the exact same thing happens every time.

  3. Incognito Mode: Logged in through an Incognito window just to rule out any funky browser extensions. No luck.

  4. Network: I'm on a fast, stable connection with no VPN or strange proxy settings active.

    What's the solution for this??

This issue could be caused by a lot of things, and StackOverflow users are unlikely to be able to help you with the specifics of a privately owned service. However, it is worth noting that there was a Cloudflare outage today, which affefted a lot of frontend web apps in a lot of unpredictable ways. Commented Nov 18 at 19:08

same issue for me, personal account Commented Nov 18 at 19:54
  • Others have said it's just a numbers game. Hit back and sign in again, and again, and again. People have said after multiple tries it worked. It has not for me yet. But browser doesn't seem to be a factor, people have used chrome, brave, safari. I don't know if this is at all related to cloudlfare or just google grossly underestimating how many people would be trying to sign up. Commented Nov 18 at 20:00

Same issue. In some of X threads like this: https://x.com/antigravity/status/1990813606217236828 (comments section), they mentioned that they're working on resolving these overload issues.

Looks like a lot more people are trying to download this. Since they've released similar tools like Jules and Opal earlier, those were not really clubbed with major model releases like Gemini 3.0. This time they've clubbed the 2, so they seem to have received a lot more traffic than expected.

It should be fixed in a few hours when the traffic decreases.

EDIT: Signing in via Chrome instead of Edge worked for me. Sneaky people. Making Edge default again. Chrome just consumes way too much memory for it to be anywhere close to being sustainable as a default browser for me (I NEED to keep atleast 100 active tabs open at all times).

I had the same issue until I changed my default browser to Chrome. I don't know if this is a universal fix, but if you already meet the requirements in the FAQ and nothing else has worked, maybe try this.

Tried this work around and was able to complete the process successfully

Work Around : In Terminal Execution Policy - uncheck "Use the default allowlist for the browser"

Not working, you might've just gotten lucky. There seems to be a large amount of people trying to sign up for this tool resulting in this issue.

I'm a Developer Advocate with Google Cloud.

I've been involved with this launch, and what has worked best for users so far is making sure that they're logging in with a personal Gmail account that is not connected to a Workspace. Even a brand new Gmail account should work.

This thread has a lot of suggestions around browser defaults that seem reasonable, but have not been barriers to successful authentication in my experience so far.
