I have been working on an app for a number of months and as of last week now seeing the error message above when trying to rename certain items within it.

This was initially isolated to multiple items within a View Form (data card, labels, combo boxes etc). The rest of the app was working as expected. But it now appears to have carried over to a second app where I'm unable to rename a text input box (which is a copy of the first app so maybe this is why?)

Adding in a new, blank View Form and pulling through the data and editing it seems to work okay but I'm not really in a position where I can rebuild an app or huge chunks of it.

Has anyone come across this before and know how to resolve it.

  • Check if the item you are trying to rename is referenced elsewhere in formulas, properties, or bindings. Use the "Tree View" in Power Apps Studio to locate all references to the control. Update any formulas or bindings that reference the old name to avoid breaking dependencies. Commented Apr 16 at 12:31
