Question

I am trying to generate a signed APK for my android project. The Debug version is running completely fine.

I am getting following error.

I am using latest kotlin plugin (build 1.8.0-RC2) in IDE.

I have also tried changing the kotlin version in buildScript.

ext.kotlin_version = '1.6.0'

I have also tried by removing the buildScript section completely.

the below link resolve the issue but it seems like a workaround. Module was compiled with an incompatible version of Kotlin. The binary version of its metadata is 1.8.0, expected version is 1.6.0

How can I resolve this issue safely?
