I have 8-channel Saleae Logic Analyzer connected to PC via USB. When I try to use higher sampling rates (16 MS/s), I receive Timeout Error stating that the analyzer ran out of buffer due to delays on USB line.

My PC is HP ZBook G7 Fury. I tried to turn off all power savers and set PC to Maximum Performance when plugged in. So far, nothing helped.

I tested the analyzer (using same USB cable) on different PC (Asus Vivobook X571GT), when it runs at maximum possible sampling rate without any issue.

Do you have any suggestions?

  • Are you using the original USB cable from Saleae? Are you connecting it to a USB3 port (painted blue)? According to Saleae specs "The Logic Pro 8 and the Logic Pro 16 can both operate when connected over USB 2.0 or USB 3.0. However, USB 3.0 is required to sample at the advertised sample rates. • @Cincinnatus I use cable that came with the logic probe and all of my USBs are USB3. Commented Apr 9 at 13:15
