I cannot figure out why the deployment to Azure Functions is failing. This is the error output given by VS Code (Python venv 3.8.8)

I was also facing this same generic error you are seeing, but the cause for mine was different - it had to do more with installing PyTorch for Azure Functions. The author of this blog has done a great job to explain this: Azure Functions : install PyTorch and Tensorflow

adding the wheel links to the requirements.txt worked for me as described in the blog, and although the deployment now worked, I still got runtime errors for pytorch: Exception: OSError: /home/site/wwwroot/.python_packages/lib/site-packages/torch/lib/libtorch_global_deps.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I ran into this problem and ran this manually:

func azure functionapp publish <AZURE_FUNCTION_NAME_GOES_HERE> --build remote

I still got the problem related to logs, but the app deployed.

(I also had switched from a consumption plan to a standard plan at that time so I'm not sure which one helped me work around the issue).

There were some other options to fix this here but they didn't apply to me.

I have received the same error "Deployment Log file does not exist in /tmp/oryx-build.log".

And tested out tow methods:

  1. Use the VSCode extension 'Azure Functions' create Function App.
  2. Check the Azure Portal - Function App - Configuration. New Function App maybe miss the key 'AzureWebJobsStorage'. Need to manually create 'Storage Accounts' and add the Key 'AzureWebJobsStorage'.

Uninstalled all python versions, VS Code, restarted.

Reinstall VSCODE, Python 3.9 (exactly) and created a new Function App (via VS CODE) and deployed.

The Output Terminal error message shows that you may missed some packages in your project.

Make sure you are included all packages in your azure project. Recheck your requirement.txt file once before deploying you have included all necessary packages.

Restart your visual studio once if still you are not able to deploy your azure functions.

Try restarting your Function App (not function). Then deploy from VSCode. See if that works. If that doesn't work, then try a function app on a different pricing plan. For me premium plan works fine but not the consumption plan. enter image description here
