Overview
The WinForms radial menu control, also known as circular context menu, comes with a rich UI inspired by OneNote, an alternate option for menus and toolbars that provides fast access to frequently used commands using either touch or mouse controls.
Associating with other controls
The radial menu can be integrated into a Windows Forms application, providing easy access to end-users.
Hierarchical menu items
Users can group commands and define menu items at multiple levels, starting from the main menu, based on their relevance. For example, users can group edit commands like “Edit” on top, and “Cut,” “Copy,” and “Paste” at the next level.
Appearance customization
- The user can increase or decrease wedge count.
- Users can display text, images, or both through display mode selection. Text can be placed either above or below images.
- The user can enable and disable menu items as needed.
- The gap and thickness in the outer arc can be customized.
- The start angle of the arc can be customized.
Image Size Customization
The image size of radial menu items can be changed.
Radial Numeric Slider
Provides a pointer to move over the built-in numeric slider, thereby allowing users to customize values such as font size. The minimum and maximum range of the number slider can be customized.
Radial Font ListBox
Provides a built-in font listbox, thereby allowing users to change font names dynamically. Each font list item’s height can be customized.
Keyboard Accessibility
The Radial Menu control supports key tips for menu items, letting users quickly access a command in a few keystrokes. When the Alt key is pressed, key tips for the Radial Menu items will be displayed. Pressing a key indicated in the key tip invokes the corresponding command.
Radial Color Palette
Provides a built-in color palette for end users to choose color dynamically. The color in the color palette can be also customized based on user convenience.
Touch-friendly UI
The control displays a hierarchy of menu items in a circular layout with a seamless navigation experience. Navigation buttons are provided at the outer arc to drill in and at the center button to drill out. End users can easily move around different levels using touch options.
Custom style and themes
Built-in themes
The WinForms radial menu control ships with Office 2016 themes. These include colorful, white, black, and dark grey options along with native themes similar to OneNote.
Custom styling
Customize the appearance of the control to any extent programmatically.
