Road Map for Essential Studio® for .NET MAUI

New Controls

The following new controls will be implemented with all their required functionalities:

  • Smart DataGrid
  • Smart Scheduler
  • Smart Text Editor

Cartesian Chart

Trendline

This feature allows users to overlay trendlines for visualizing data patterns such as linear, exponential, or polynomial trends.

Annotation touch interaction

This feature enables users to interact with chart annotations via touch gestures, improving data exploration.

Bar race animation

This feature provides dynamic race-style animations for bar charts, ideal for showcasing real-time data changes.

Floating legend

This feature allows legends to float over the chart areas, offering flexible positioning and improved readability.

Funnel Chart

Horizontal layout

This feature allows funnel charts to be rendered horizontally, offering improved layout flexibility.

Pyramid Chart

Horizontal layout

This feature enables pyramid charts to display in a horizontal orientation, enhancing visual alignment.

Rich Text Editor

Context menu / Inline tooltip

This feature allows users to view and customize content using contextual tooltips directly within the editor.

Toolbar customization

This feature allows deeper toolbar customization and improves loading performance and smoother editing experience.

Kanban Board

Card item sorting

This feature lets users sort cards within columns to organize tasks.

Keep card support

This feature shows a draggable preview while keeping the original card in place, allowing repeated drags without moving the item.

RTL support

This feature allows users to change the control’s flow direction to right-to-left.

Masked Entry

Password delay

This feature allows users to configure a short delay that briefly shows the last typed character before it is masked. It improves usability by letting users confirm their input while preserving overall confidentiality.

Text Input Layout

Show character count

This feature allows users to display a live counter that shows how many characters have been entered and, if MaxLength is set, how many remain. It helps users stay within limits and provides immediate feedback during input.

Scheduler

Horizontal resource view in mobile platforms

Scheduler allows users to manage appointments by resources in day, week, and workweek views on mobile platforms.

Visible resource count in timeline view

This feature allows users to control the number of resources visible in the Scheduler’s timeline day, timeline week, and timeline workweek views.

Built-in appointment editor

This feature allows users to add or edit appointments by double-tapping them in the Scheduler.

Hide non-working days

This feature allows users to hide non-working days in the timeline month view of the Scheduler.

Calendar

Auto-adjust month view height

Automatically adjusts the month view height to fit available space when leading and trailing dates are hidden.

Toolbar

Multi-row toolbar

This feature allows users to organize toolbar items into multiple rows, making it easier to manage many items.

Extended row toolbar

Extends the toolbar to fit more items, revealing additional rows only when the extend icon is clicked. This feature allows users to hide non-working days in the timeline month view of the Scheduler.

TreeView

Filter nodes

This feature allows users to filter nodes based on defined criteria.

DataGrid

Data validation

This feature validates user inputs against predefined criteria before any changes are committed.

Filter row

Adds a dedicated row to the grid, allowing users to filter data for any column intuitively.

Extended selection

This feature allows advanced, multi-cell or multi-row selection using a keyboard and pointer (dragging) combinations.

UI filtering

This feature is Excel-like and has an advanced filtering UI, such as a pop-up dialog to build complex filter criteria.

This feature supports fixed footer rows and columns, which are typically used to display summary calculations.

This feature is a dedicated column type that renders cell content as clickable hyperlinks.

UI grouping

This feature allows end-users to perform data grouping interactively by dragging column headers into a designated grouping area.

Merged cells

This feature automatically merges adjacent cells with identical values, improving the visual presentation of structured data.

Column chooser

This feature provides a UI element that enables end-users to control the visibility of columns at runtime dynamically.

Printing

This built-in function prints the DataGrid’s content with customization options.

Multi-column dropdown column

This feature adds a special dropdown column type where the dropdown list can display multiple columns of information.

Context menu

This feature allows users to right-click context menus for interacting with cells.
