I have just started working in ASP.NET MVC for learning purposes. I have been following a tutorial where it gives the brief about web.config file content and it tells about the connection string. But I can't find any connection string in my web.config file. Is this a big problem or we can add manually a connection string tag and then add our connection string to it?

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<configuration>
  <appSettings>
    <add key="webpages:Version" value="3.0.0.0"/>
    <add key="webpages:Enabled" value="false"/>
    <add key="ClientValidationEnabled" value="true"/>
    <add key="UnobtrusiveJavaScriptEnabled" value="true"/>
  </appSettings>

Any guide what possibly wrong could be there?

simply add it manually like this

<connectionStrings>

  <add name="myDBContext" connectionString="Data Source=(LocalDb)\MSSQLLocalDB;Initial Catalog=MyDataBaseName;Integrated Security=True" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
</connectionStrings>

and change the Data Source=(LocalDb)\MSSQLLocalDB according to your database location and Initial Catalog=MyDataBaseName for your Databasename
