WebSphere Application Server / java.lang.ClassCastException

Question

İ write simole restful webservice and deploy the service on websphere apllication server,

but i am getting the following exception:

Error 500: org.jboss.resteasy.spi.UnhandledException: 
    java.lang.ClassCastException:

how can i solve it ?

You're deploying a Jboss JAX-RS implementation which is conflicting with (Wink-based) JAX-RS implementation included in WebSphere.

Either switch to the built-in JAX-RS support and change your web.xml to reference JAX-RS classes rather than implementation-specific classes, or change the WebSphere classloader to PARENT_LAST to get the Jboss implementation picked up first in the classpath.

If you can do it, the former is recommended. That is, write to the JAX-RS specification rather than to any specific implementation of it. (This would also allow you to get official IBM support for JAX-RS problems under WebSphere.)
