I noticed my comments UI changed and now the timestamp isn't clickable. It used to be a link to the comment. The equivalent thing is now to click the dropdown menu and click "Copy link" then paste the link into the address bar.

Please add back a clickable timestamp. I use it to focus on a particular comment (it scrolls into view and gets highlighted yellow), and sometimes when I have to switch tabs and come back, having the comment in the URL helps me remember what I was doing.

Alternatively, you could change the "Copy link" button to a clickable "Link" button and use the right-click menu in order to copy it, but I don't think you or I would prefer that.

A good reminder that the "superior" (and usable) version of the site is the one without the experiments enabled. Commented Aug 28 at 15:00

This post reminded me that all dates over a year ago are the date "over a year ago" is still a "feature"... >_< Commented Aug 28 at 15:05

Yeah, honestly as a common mobile user it's an eyesore, as I have no idea when the comments were made and I have no way of finding out, as tooltips aren't available. I assume it's all in aid of "accessibility". Commented Aug 28 at 15:24
  • BTW, with the new UI, linked comments stay highlighted, which is nice :) Commented Aug 28 at 21:49

@ThomA looking at how SE is designing and developing features nowadays, it seems like they dropped the "cce" from "accessibility".... Commented Aug 29 at 11:41

You can see the actual comment timestamps in the timeline (you may have to toggle format). That's not very convenient, but at least it also works on mobile. OTOH, trying to read comments in the timeline on a phone is painful. Commented Aug 31 at 2:42

OK this is back, in slightly altered form. Clicking a comment timestamp in the new UI should now adjust the URL, highlight yellow (not just a flash) & scroll it to the page centre.
