Every company has a mission. What's ours? To empower every person and every organization to achieve more. We believe technology can and should be a force for good and that meaningful innovation contributes to a brighter world in the future and today. Our culture doesn’t just encourage curiosity; it embraces it. Each day we make progress together by showing up as our authentic selves. We show up with a learn-it-all mentality. We show up cheering on others, knowing their success doesn't diminish our own. We show up every day open to learning our own biases, changing our behavior, and inviting in differences. Because impact matters.
Microsoft operates in 190 countries and is made up of approximately 228,000 passionate employees worldwide.
Microsoft Ignite is in San Francisco right now, bringing 20,000 people to our city and generating an estimated $68 million in economic impact and 68,000 hotel room nights. Today, Judson Althoff and I announced that this flagship tech conference is coming back to San Francisco in 2026!
By establishing San Francisco as their home, Microsoft is reaffirming what we already know: our city is a global hub of innovation. Ignite’s return adds to a strong year ahead for Moscone Center, which will host 36 major events in 2026—outpacing 2025 and continuing the momentum we’re building across the city.
I was so pleased to be joined by customers and partners around the world for Microsoft Ignite with 20,000 attendees joining in San Francisco and 200,000 online. It is an exciting time as we shift from an era of AI Transformation to Frontier Transformation: a holistic reimagining of your business, aligning AI with human ambition to achieve your organization's highest aspirations and potential. By democratizing intelligence—empowered by Copilots and agents—we will help them obsolesce the mundane, unlock creativity, and drive even greater innovation.
As our customers realize success, we have identified three common themes below with new product announcements aimed at empowering the Frontier Firm:
1. AI in the flow of human ambition. AI needs to be seamlessly accessible in the tools and solutions people use every day and tied to the key business metrics they use to determine ROI. Work IQ amplifies an individual’s IQ—it is the intelligence layer that enables Microsoft 365 Copilot and agents to know how you work, with whom you work, and the content you collaborate on.
2. Ubiquitous innovation. There is a maker in every one of us. The person closest to the challenge is often the best to solve it. Empowering employees with the ability to create AI artifacts in the flow of work and coupling citizen development with IT and professional developers through robust collaboration enables innovate at pace.
▪️ Foundry IQ is the intelligent connection point between all structured and unstructured knowledge and models that agents need. It is the first large scale implementation of context engineering pulling from multiple sources through a single API.
▪️ Fabric IQ is the semantic layer that agents and apps use to reason with enterprise context across your entire data estate, turning unified data into unified intelligence for decisions. If you are already using Power BI, all pre-existing data modeling will act as an immediate accelerant, giving your agents the unique context that defines how your business runs.
▪️ Microsoft Agent Factory harnesses the power of Work IQ, Foundry IQ, and Fabric IQ through a single metered plan, measuring ROI for AI before you start building agents. You can leverage our forward-deployed engineers, our partners, and our skilling assets to build and deliver agents.
3. Observability at every layer of the stack. You need to see all AI artifacts and how they are being used in real workflows. Microsoft Agent 365 enables you to observe, manage, and secure your AI agents whether they are created with Microsoft platforms, open-source frameworks, or third-party platforms.
Underpinning these three traits are the fundamental Frontier building blocks of Intelligence + Trust, enabled by Microsoft’s model diverse, open, and heterogenous platforms, we can bring together your organization’s IQ and help you achieve your highest aspirations in the pursuit of Frontier Transformation.

It’s been an incredible start to #MSIgnite here in San Francisco! Yesterday during the keynote, we shared how Microsoft is evolving the AI stack to help organizations build agents that are intelligent, trustworthy, and deeply grounded in their business.
A big part of this evolution is giving agents the context, data, and oversight they need to operate effectively across the enterprise. We introduced Work IQ, which powers Microsoft 365 Copilot and agents with real-time signals from your files, meetings, messages, and work patterns. Plus, Fabric IQ and Foundry IQ to bring together operational and analytical data to give both agents and people a connected, live view of the business.
We also introduced Agent 365 – a single place to manage and secure agents. I had a fantastic conversation with Tao Zhang from Manus AI, Dean Arnold from Workday, and Paul Fipps from ServiceNow about observability and governance. One message is clear: the next phase of AI will be about scaling trust and visibility, to deliver real business impact.
And this is just the beginning of an exciting week at Ignite. It was great to join Judson Althoff, Scott Guthrie, Asha Sharma, and Ryan Roslansky on stage to kick off such a pivotal moment for AI and the future of work.
We caught up with Yina Arenas at #MSIgnite to hear how Microsoft Foundry is transforming the dev experience. Models, agents, tools, observability… 💨
Try to keep up!
