What a week! Our CEO & Founder Jake Mills and Director of Business & Operational Development Chris Clarke Clarke headed to London for two important events shining a light on suicide prevention, mental health, and the wellbeing of men in society. 🫶 Jake attended the APPG on Suicide & Self-harm Prevention AGM, followed by a reception at 10 Downing Street for International Men’s Day, highlighting men’s mental health, wellbeing and the role of government in driving change Chris attended the launch of the new British Standard on Suicide and the Workplace at the Palace of Westminster. Some words from Chris: “Here at Chasing the Stigma we are incredibly proud to have been involved in the committees that helped shape the standard and are hopeful it will go a long way to reducing the devastating impact of suicide in the years ahead.” 💬 Thank you to all the speakers and partners who made these events possible, we welcome any opportunity to speak why mental health support must be inclusive and accessible wherever and whenever people need it. 💙 #Mentalhealth #Chasingthestigma

If life feels hard today, please know you are not alone. Whoever you are, whatever sits on your shoulders, your presence in this world matters more than you know. No one is meant to carry everything by themselves. Not even you. You are strong, yes - but you are not meant to be stronger than everyone else. You deserve support too. If you can't speak to those around you, there is still support available - real people, ready to listen, at any hour. If you need someone to speak to, you can find help here: Hub of Hope Chasing the Stigma https://hubofhope.co.uk/ You never know who might be struggling quietly. If you can, please share this with others who may need it ❤️

Today is International Men's Day, a day dedicated to honouring the contributions men make to their families, communities and society as a whole, as well as to highlight men's health and the challenges they face. This year's theme is 'Celebrating Men and Boys,' focusing on uplifting positive male role models and raising awareness about the overall wellbeing of men and boys. Did you know that: 👉 Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50 in the UK 👉 2 in 5 men regularly feel low or worried 👉 40% of men have never spoken to anyone about their mental health, despite over 75% experiencing depression, stress or anxiety ✨ There are some fantastic charities and organisations supporting men with their mental health, including #ANDYSMANCLUB, James' Place Charity, Sean's Place, Talk Club, Two Pints Deep, UK Men's Sheds Association and many more. Find a comprehensive list from International Mens Day UK at https://lnkd.in/dGb2bSN ✨ For further support and information please visit The Jordan Legacy website at https://lnkd.in/dfAin4A ✨ Find local or national services for your mental health needs at the Hub of Hope: https://hubofhope.co.uk/ #mentalhealth #suicideprevention #menshealth #internationalmensday #menshealthmonth

Every workplace is touched by suicide at some point, whether through colleagues, customers, contractors, or communities. Yet many organizations feel unprepared to respond. Suicide and the workplace – Intervention, prevention and support for people affected by suicide – Guide (BS 30480:2025) is here to change that. It gives you clear, practical guidance to create safe, supportive workplaces. We asked Chris Clarke, Director of Business and Operational Development at Chasing the Stigma, what this standard means to him and why it is so important💭 Thank you to all those who contributed to its development. We encourage every organization to download BS 30480 and explore its guidance: https://lnkd.in/exKyvrH3 #BS30480 #SuicideAwareness #SuicidePrevention #MentalHealth #Standards

Today we are giving a huge shout out to the brilliant people The Regenda Group who this time last month climbed mount Snowdon in support of Chasing the Stigma – helping us to keep our Hub of Hope free – connecting people to timely mental health support wherever and whenever they need it. The team said “It was a tough but rewarding challenge for us all - full of laughs, teamwork and a few sore legs 🤣 Special thank you to Jamie Maxwell for organising such a brilliant day! ⛰️” They have raised a fantastic £750 so far, but there is still time to support their fundraiser here: https://lnkd.in/ezvwSbtr

Chasing the Stigma is proud to have supported the development of BS 30480 Suicide and the workplace – Intervention, prevention and support for people affected by suicide guide, which has now been published by BSI – The UK’s National Standards Body (NSB). Suicide touches many lives, and workplaces are not exempt. This new British Standard sets out practical guidance to help organisations recognise suicide risk, respond appropriately, and provide support to those who have been affected. It was developed with input from many sectors and experts, and will hopefully prove to be a useful resource for employers of all sizes who want to take meaningful steps in this area. BS 30480 is available to download free of charge here: https://bit.ly/3IfGT4m #BS30480 #SuicidePrevention #SuicideAwareness #MentalHealth #Standards
