KSCS Launches New Website
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Kahnawà:ke - Onerahtohkó:wa / May 22, 2025)
Kahnawà:ke Shakotiia’takéhnhas Community Services (KSCS) will officially launch its completely rebuilt website on Thursday, May 22nd, 2025, which will be available at the same domain: www.kscs.ca.
The new site represents a full-scale rebuild led by Tish Pungartnik and Katsi’tsaié:ri Paul from the Communications Department. Over the course of 18 months, the pair oversaw the content strategy, structure, copy, and internal coordination, working closely with departments across the organization and in partnership with web developers Sara Ericsson and Lee Stafford of NATIONAL Public Relations Firm.
“A lot of what KSCS offers wasn’t even visible before,” said Katsi’tsaié:ri Paul, Internal Communications Coordinator. “Now, every program has a landing page, every department is represented, and the steps to access support are much clearer. We also ensured that Tsi Niionkwarihò:ten was at the forefront throughout this project - translations were done, and we’ll be working to integrate it more and more as we continue developing the site. That foundation is important, and we wanted it to be reflected in the way KSCS presents itself online.”
“We approached this project with two clear goals in mind: to improve transparency across KSCS and to make our services easier to access,” said Tish Pungartnik, Team Leader of Communications and Public Relations. “To achieve that, we had to rethink everything - how information is presented, how services are reached, and how people interact with KSCS online. We created landing pages for every single department to make sure people can see what each team does and why it matters. We wrote a lot, intentionally, so that people could truly understand the depth of work being done across KSCS. We also streamlined access to key services - like intake - which are now available online. We strongly encourage people to take the time to explore the site and see what’s available. There’s more than most people realize.”
“The newly updated KSCS website is a huge step forward in terms of making KSCS more accessible to community members,” said Davis Montour, Director of Family Services Operations. “This launch is so important to the organization, as it allows people to get a much more representative look into all that KSCS offers and what we are about as an organization. Tish, Katsi’tsaié:ri, and everyone else involved in this project have done an absolutely outstanding job. The way that KSCS represents itself as an organization is so important, and the new format allows so much more of what we do to be visible to people who may not be aware of all that KSCS is about.”
The previous platform offered limited access to core programs and lacked clarity around KSCS’s full range of services. The new site addresses these gaps directly.
Community members can now complete intake online, apply for Turtle Bay Elder’s Lodge online, submit requests for Environmental Health Services, and access a clear breakdown of all departments, programs, events, and updates. A newly added Internal Operations section allows visitors to see how KSCS departments work together and support one another - and so much more.
The building and design were made possible through a close collaboration with National Public Relations Firm.
KSCS thanks Sara Ericsson and Lee Stafford for their technical expertise, user experience insight, and responsiveness throughout the process. Their support was vital in translating KSCS’s needs into a high-performing and intuitive digital platform.
KSCS extends sincere thanks to:
- Sahawisó:ko Arquette, for supporting key translation work
- Molly Huntington, for original digital artwork featured throughout the site
- Brooke Francis, for photography contributions
- The families and community members who participated in photoshoots
All KSCS staff who responded to information requests, reviewed content, helped bring the project to completion, and trusted us with this work.
“We’re so excited to share this with the community because we know how much work went into it,” said Pungartnik and Paul. "Our hope is that this platform not only makes information and services more accessible but also reflects the care and intention behind everything KSCS offers.”
The new website will go live on Thursday, May 22nd, at www.kscs.ca. Additional features, including a newsletter sign-up for community updates, will be rolled out in the near future.
