In episode 23, Ali Barfield joins Richie to discuss how gambling is being disguised as games. AI-generated influencers are now promoting gamified gambling systems to young people - normalising risk and chasing that same dopamine hit from “almost winning”. This is where awareness matters most - listen to Ali's podcast episode via the link in the comments. #EpicRestartFoundation #BreakingTheStigma #AddictionRecovery #GamblingAddiction #Influencers

The EPIC Restart Foundation empowers people to rebuild positive lives after gambling harm.
About us
The EPIC Restart Foundation is a UK charity providing practical support to empower those recovering from a gambling disorder to positively restart their lives. Gambling addiction devastates lives, and many people struggle to establish or sustain a positive recovery. Poor mental health, depression and anxiety as well as isolation, stigma and lack of confidence all increase the risk of relapse. We believe it is essential to break the cycle of gambling harm and repeated relapse. Our pioneering approach brings together treatment providers, experts in coaching and recovery, and those with lived experience of gambling harm to offer transformational, person-centred support. We offer life changing events, personal development workshops and intensive lived experience recovery coaching that inspires and empowers individuals to take action to rebuild their own lives – with the confidence to take personal responsibility for their onward journey of recovery. “The single best thing I have ever done for myself. I have a renewed sense of power over my life, my mindset, and my goals. A genuinely life changing experience.” 2021 Delegate

Episode 23 with Ali Barfield 🎙️ We live in an age where aspiration culture is everywhere. Young people are bombarded with images of luxury lifestyles, fast cars, designer brands, and private jets - often sold as the ultimate goal. But behind the filters and fake jets lies a more dangerous reality. The same online spaces glamorising wealth are also normalising gambling as a way to “get rich”. Ali Barfield joins Richie to unpack how this culture is shaping a generation - and how gambling companies are exploiting it. On World Kindness Day, we’re highlighting the importance of self-kindness in recovery from gambling harm. Recovery is rarely linear - it takes strength, patience, and understanding. At EPIC Restart, we encourage everyone in our community to recognise their progress, celebrate small wins, and practise compassion towards themselves, not just others. Today and every day, take a moment to #CelebrateEveryday.
