Azure Cosmos DB for PostgreSQL future?

I'm seeing a notification on all the Azure Cosmos DB for PostgreSQL documentation in learn.microsoft.com saying:

Azure Cosmos DB for PostgreSQL is no longer supported for new projects.

I've done a few searches, but haven't seen any other announcements regarding this anywhere else. Where can I find out more?

Yes, well I read the notification in document that is why I asked the question.The product was only introduced a couple of years ago. Can you provide any insight into the logic of it's withdrawal? Is it just that they are adding the Elastic cluster feature to the other product and so it doesn't make sense to support both.

Thank you for response. Yes you are correct.

After checking this with the Product team, they clarified that this is related to the new Elastic Cluster feature, which uses the same distributed PostgreSQL model. Since Elastic Clusters are now part of Flexible Server, customers can use both single-shard and multi-shard PostgreSQL within the same platform.

As a result, Azure Cosmos DB for PostgreSQL is being phased out.
