Why aren't screen shots saving?

Windows Key-PrtScn - did it.

Pictures > Screenshots - not there, not in drive, not anywhere.

CTRL + V - does nothing.

Lots of people having this problem.

I don't know about prtscn but if anyone needs help with screenshot win/shift/S on a new install I had to go to the MSstore and download the snipping tool and that got the notification to start back popping up.

    Hello,

There could be several reasons why your screenshots are not saving. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    • Check if the screenshots are being saved to OneDrive or Microsoft account instead of your local drive.
    • Check if the Windows key is working properly. Press the Windows key and check if the Start menu opens. If it doesn't, the Windows key may be malfunctioning.

    Best Regards,

Ok, so I figured out that my computer wasn't saving the screenshots at all at first. Then I tried the Win key + shift + s which does the snipping tool which then saves to the clipboard but it wasn't cause the clipboard was turned off. I clicked "turn on" clipboard and then got the snip to save onto the clipboard but it wasn't letting me use the snip the way i wanted it to. I tried using win key + prtsc and it saved it to the clipboard again. So I clicked on the 3 dots in the top right corner of the clipboard window and it opens up the clipboard settings where i then turned OFF the clipboard with the little slider bar/button then tried the win key + prtsc button again and it finally saved to the screenshots folder in the pictures file! EUREKA! Hope this helps!
