Hey Airtable Community!

I'm Zach Felsenstein from the Product Ops team at Airtable. Welcome to our quarterly Product Playback – a snapshot of what we're hearing from you and how we're responding.

Thank you for continuing to share your ideas and feedback. Over the past three months (July-September), you've submitted 500+ pieces of feedback through our Product Ideas form. We read every submission, and your detailed feedback directly influences our roadmap priorities. The themes you're seeing reflected here represent the consolidation of hundreds of individual requests.

About this post: We cover the most requested features, what we've shipped, what's in progress, and what we're considering. Our roadmap evolves based on customer needs, technical factors, and market dynamics, so while plans may shift, we want to keep you informed about our direction.

Ready? Let's dive into what you've been asking for and what we're building.

🚀 New AI Capabilities

AI-Generated Interface Elements (AI Labs)

Omni can now create bespoke interface elements from simple prompts. Just describe what you want—a 3D product viewer, revenue heat map, network diagram, or workflow canvas—and Omni builds it in minutes. Available now in AI Labs for all plans.

Image Generation & Analysis (GA for Free & Teams)

Image Generation & Analysis is now generally available for Free and Teams plans. Visualize marketing campaigns, localize imagery for global markets, review brand compliance automatically, and find images from the web. Business and Enterprise Scale customers can access via AI Labs.

Google Drive & OneDrive Connectors (GA)

Field Agents now connect to Google Drive and OneDrive, letting you search documentation, summarize comment threads, and reference specific files directly in your workflows. Available now to all users.

Thanks, @Zach!

Thanks for the update!

It has been a fantastic quarter of fantastic new features! :)

Also great to hear that you guys are actively reading our feature suggestions! Questions:

  1. Do you have the URL to the Airtable API on Postman?

  2. Can Airtable please publish & maintain an extensive change log of all the new features?

Airtable makes dozens of changes every month, but we have to accidentally stumble upon the vast majority of them in order to find them.

The "What's New" page is “relatively” useless, because it lists less than 20% of the changes.

Most of the dramatically impactful new features aren’t listed anywhere.

For example, wrappable column headers was the #1 biggest feature request that customers have been waiting for, and it wasn’t announced anywhere.

Same thing with collapsible groups in interface record detail pages, and a whole bunch of other additions.

  3. Glad to hear that Airtable is reading our product feature requests, but it doesn’t seem like Airtable is reading the feedback that we submit at the bottom of Airtable’s support articles to improve the support articles. This seemed to have stopped in 2023. Can you guys go back to reading that feedback as well?

Thank you! :)

Hey @ScottWorld!

1. https://www.postman.com/airtable

2. Hear you on looking for a more detailed changelog, I’ll take this back to the team.

3. We receive (and appreciate) all article suggestions but may not always make the suggested edit. If you run into an issue with that again please hit me up directly so I can troubleshoot, you have my contact info.

Bit by bit we’re knocking off more of that top feature requests list. :)

Best,

Zach

Airtable product team

@Zach Love the updates, and especially appreciate the update on updates haha!

It’s great to hear that y’all are checking the community feeds at places like the Built on Air forums as well.

I’d also echo Scott’s comment about a detailed changelog. It’s always amusing what makes the What’s New and what doesn’t haha.
