Animation problems, but great for illustration
SamaelDire
To start I’ll say I have a 2019 iPad so it’s probably to do with the old hardware.Sometimes when opening an animation I’ve been working on all of the frames will completely disappear from both the layer view and the little player at the bottom, at worst the actual art will disappear from the canvas as well and can’t be retrieved. Luckily the latter happens rarely, but it’s still frustrating to have to repeatedly load up a file hoping it’ll just decide to work correctly after a few attempts. As for illustration I honestly have no complaints ! It takes photoshop brushes great, it has a CMYK canvas option for if you plan to print your work, it has gradient maps that you can paint onto your work, and something a lot of other softwares lack is that it shows you how different filter effects will look while you’re adjusting it without needing to apply it to the work first which I absolutely love. I genuinely believe if I had better hardware I could exclusively use Procreate for professional illustrations.
Developer Response
Hi SamaelDire – Thank you for using Procreate and leaving us a review! It sounds like you’re experiencing a known issue that we have logged with the team and we hope that it will be fixed in the near future. What we would suggest is to close Procreate and restart the program. The issue will reoccur once you export in an animated format. However, this should not cause any permeant damage to your artwork and can be resolved each time with the restart of Procreate. If you experience any permanent data loss or if this is not the issue that you’re experiencing, please don’t hesitate to contact us via Support Form (https://procreate.com/support)
Where did the brushes go??
JaxCrimson
I’ve been using procreate for about 2/3 years now. It’s been great. I downloaded free brushes but recently had to delete the files because my iPad is old and running out of space. However- the brushes I downloaded remained. That was fine with me, someone of my favourite brushes were ones I downloaded. But the last few days I haven’t been able to use ANY brushes, even the pre set ones that come with the app. There wasn’t any files that came with those pre set brushes and the files for the ones I downloaded are long gone so I have to go through to download them again. But I have no way of getting the pre set brushes back, I can’t figure it out. Please help! I don’t want to delete the app and lose all my art!

LOVE THIS
FluffyBunnieLover🐰
as you can probably see from the title, I LOVE THIS APP. I got it as a Christmas present from my parents and I haven’t looked back since. This completely changed my life. (and my drawing) The interface is smooth and easy to use, the amount of brushes is amazing, the easy way to find tutorials makes everything so simple! As someone who is working on a comic project currently, the app has made my year and a half procrastination just melt away. It’s so easy to use, and the canvas sizes work well for (hopefully 🤞🏻) printing! I do have one suggestion. As someone who uses character references and reference sheets for backgrounds that I’ve done on other documents, I wonder, could there be an option in the ‘Canvas’ section of the reference tab to reference an existing canvas? I think it would make it a little easier to use references from other canvases, and that my poor iCloud storage doesn’t keel over from my amount on general art references and screenshots 😅Don’t get me wrong. I wouldn’t delete the app over it. Not at all. As someone who is going to go begging an my little artist knees to get Procreate Dreams for my birthday, I’m not going anywhere. You’ll have to drag me away from this app kicking and screaming. You guys are awesome, and please keep doing what you’re doing! -lots of love from ✨Ireland✨, a desperate lesbian artist
